Distribution of Provision to the Rural Areas

Friends of the Vihara continues to reach out further away from central KL. We aim to provide daily necessities to ease the burden of those impoverished families in rural community. Daily necessities such as grocery items (rice, cooking oil, dhall/flour, salt, sugar, beverages, milk, biscuits), toiletries items (toothpaste, toothbrush, detergent, soap, shampoo, toilet rolls) and stationery items (exercise books, erasers, colour pencils, pencils, sharpener, ruler and pencil boxes) are distributed to each family. For all projects, we received over whelming response of generous sponsors for groceries, toiletries and stationeries.

In March 2012, we embarked on our maiden trip to Mentakab, Pahang. We distributed provisions to 50 families from Kg Awak Estate and Taman Bukit Bendera. This was followed by a second trip to Kuala Krau, Temerloh, Pahang September to distribute necessities to 100 orang asli families. In March 2013, the distribution of provision was to 100 families from four orang asli settlements in Bentong, Pahang.
